MJ..... You need a history lesson. Just because in the 50's the tax rate was '90%' doesn't mean they paid that rate. There were so many 'loopholes' and 'shelters' then that they actually paid a whole lot less than today. Their effective tax rate, which is what really matters, was closer to 30%.
